2012 AGU Fall Meeting

As in previous years, GEIA sponsored an emissions science session and a Town Hall at the 2012 AGU Fall Meeting in San Francisco, California.

The science session, Emissions Understanding, Constraints, and Changes, was chaired by Monika Kopacz, Greg Frost, Rob Pinder, Randall Martin, Qiang Zhang, and Jintai Lin. This session had a total of 105 presentations; 48 talks were presented in 6 oral sessions, along with 57 poster presentations. This science session was one of the largest in the Atmospheric Sciences program at the 2012 AGU Meeting.

A Town Hall, Emissions Information & Communication – Progress & Priorities, was convened by Paulette Middleton and Greg Frost. The Town Hall included an interactive discussion of current capabilities and future priorities for emissions information and communication in research, assessment, regulation, operations, and policy. Attendees were updated on progress with community forums for the exchange of emissions expertise and information, including GEIA, ECCAD, and CIERA.
