Objectives

This component of RCEI had the following objectives:

To establish a 1° x 1° world-wide grid of emission estimates of reactive chlorine compounds emitted from the burning of vegetation.
To provide estimates for both organic chlorine compounds and inorganic chlorine emissions.
To provide the above information on a monthly or seasonal basis provided availability of existing data.

Status

The paper has been published and is available here along with the data from this publication.

Objectives 1) and 2) were met for the above publication. Seasonal or monthly variations could not be incorporated due to a lack of available data. This goal could be implemented in a future update of the effort by utilizing meteorological/climatological data and information about regional burning practices.
