Welcome to GEIA-original inventory data. GEIA-Original provides
- Global emission inventories on a one degree grid for the entire world
- Links to New GEIA-related databases and updates
- Utilities
Please visit
ECCAD-GEIA Portal for additional data.
Many scientific groups have taken responsibility for developing these inventories. These data generally are available in annual resolutions, with some available in seasonal or monthly resolution. Base years vary. Most data are provided for the surface level, but there is limited vertical resolution for some.
GEIA-original inventory data and other related databases are discussed in the
Emission Reviews.
GEIA-Original Inventory and the Emission Review information is summarized here.
For ease of use, almost all of the databases are kept in a uniform data
format.
We also have provided simple data
checking procedures.
Please email Debra Hopkins (dhopkins@coderiver.com) with questions regarding
data access and Paulette Middleton (Paulette@PanoramaPathways.net) with questions
regarding information content.

This is the MEGAN site. MEGAN is a modeling system for estimating the net emission of gases and aerosols from terrestrial ecosystems into the atmosphere. It is driven by landcover, weather, and atmospheric chemical composition. MEGAN is a global model with a base resolution of ~ 1 km. It can run as a stand-alone model for generating emission inventories but is also being incorporated as an on-line component of chemistry/transport and earth system models.

NASA-CASA Global Map Data Sets
These NASA-CASA data sets include global maps for
predicted fluxes of soil nitrogen gases (N2O and NO), methane (CH4), and
carbon monoxide (CO). Others will follow. To obtain copies of these map data
files, log-on to the NASA Ames server and go to the directory called
'/pub/glemis/. The documentation text file called 'README_glemis' provides
necessary downloading information (formats, references, methods, etc.) for the
map files.

- CONVERTING GRIDDED DATA TO COUNTRIES: All one needs to convert gridded
data into country information is a country data set. One such data set is
available at http://www.giss.nasa.gov
